Blyth Finish On A Double

26/4/08 -Leigh RMI 0 . 2 Blyth Spartans

Blyth ended the season with their first double, after a two nil win over League wooden spooners Leigh RMI, in a historical last ever game for Leigh at Hilton Park.

Blyth took the lead from the penalty spot on 18 minutes through top scorer Robbie Dale.

A second half goal from Ged Dalton secured the win on 51 minutes.

Blyth Safe

19/4/08 -Boston Utd 3 .2 Blyth Spartans

Blyth secured mathematical safety although loosing at Boston, after Hucknall failed to secure all three points at Harrogate Town.

Blyth were chasing the game as early as 4 minutes, when the Home side went ahead through Ellender. Blyth had some good possesion through the first half but lacked ideas in front of the Boston goal, with many chances going begging.

The second half saw further goals from Boston to go three up with 12 minutes remaining, and BLyths goal difference decreasing.

Blyth then went with three up front and immediately following Bostons third, pulled a goal back through Houlahan. Three minutes later and Houlahan scored his second of the game, with Boston going into panic mode. Blyth thought they had pulled off an amazing comeback when Houlahan scored his third goal in injury time, but it had been ruled out for offside.
